Primary signet ring cell carcinoma of the uterine cervix.

چکیده
Primary signet ring cell carcinoma of the cervix is extremely rare. A 47-year-old woman visited for postcoital vaginal bleeding during the last six months. Gynecologic examination revealed mild cervical erosion and touch bleeding. Colposcopic punch biopsy revealed a signet ring cell type of mucinous adenocarcinoma. The patient underwent radical hysterectomy with bilateral salpingooophorectomy, pelvic lymph node dissection, and para-aortic lymph node dissection. Microscopically, the tumor mainly consisted of two different types of cells; mixed signet ring cell carcinoma (70%) and mucinous carcinoma of intestinal type (30%). The patient died in 6 months after operation. The prognosis of primary signet ring cell adenocarcinoma of the uterine cervix is still unclear because of the extremely rare incidence of cases. In this case, we could suggest that this type of carcinoma has an aggressive behavior.

Primary signet ring cell adenocarcinoma of the uterine cervix — A rare neoplasm that raises the question of metastasis to the cervix
Primary signet ring cell adenocarcinoma is extremely rare. Signet ring cell carcinoma is more commonly primary in the stomach or breast, and the more likely metastatic disease to the cervix needs to be ruled out. We present a case of primary signet ring cell carcinoma of the cervix and review the literature.
متن کاملA Concurrent Case of Ménétrier's Disease and Signet Ring Carcinoma
Ménétrier's disease, also known as hyperplastic protein-losing gastropathy, is a rare, idiopathic, acquired, premalignant condition associated with gastric carcinoma. Its association with signet ring cell cancer of the stomach has been previously reported only twice. We present the third case of histologically confirmed concurrent Ménétrier's disease with signet ring carcinoma of the stomach, i...
متن کاملA new case of primary signet-ring cell carcinoma of the cervix with prominent endometrial and myometrial involvement: Immunohistochemical and molecular studies and review of the literature
BACKGROUND As a rule, endocervical tumours with signet-ring cell are classed as metastatic extra-genital neoplasms. In a patient aged 45 years, we describe primary cervical signet-ring cell carcinoma (PCSRCC) characterized by prominent endometrial and myometrial involvement, simulating primary endometrial adenocarcinoma with cervical extension. In addition, a review was made of the literature t...
متن کاملSmall cell carcinoma of the uterine cervix with cerebellar metastasis: A special case report with literature review
Background: Small cell carcinoma of the uterine cervix is a highly malignant form of cancer in women, characterized by its high propensity for rapid extra-pelvic distant metastasis and poor prognosis. The best treatment strategy for this type of cancer is still controversial. Case presentation: We report here a case of small cell carcinoma of the uterine cervix treated by extensive total hyster...
متن کاملBreast metastases of gastric signet-ring cell carcinoma: a report of two cases and review of the literature
It is occasionally difficult to diagnose breast metastasis of gastric carcinoma because of its rarity. However, to appropriately treat patients with breast tumors without delay, it is important to distinguish metastatic cancer from primary breast cancer. We report two cases of breast metastasis of gastric carcinoma and review the literature. The first case was a 41-year-old female diagnosed wit...
